Overview
The Connect Client presents a single interface to manage business communications using a Mitel desk phone, computer, or mobile phone. With support for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Collaboration for Web, the Connect client simplifies your day-to-day communications and streamlines your work.
Sending a Message
The Teamwork for Desktop application is packaged with the Connect Client application to provide Connect Client users a seamless cross-launching messaging experience between Connect Client and Teamwork for Desktop application.
Mi Cloud Connect and MiVoice Connect users can send messages to:
- Individuals
- Multiple users
- Groups
To send a message to an individual or multiple contacts:
- Find the contact. If the contact is available for messaging, you see the availability state icon beside the name in the second pane.
- On the Contact card, click Messages. In the message input field type the message, and press Enter.
- To add more participants, click the person icon on the Contact card.
- In the Search bar, type the name of the extension number, and select the contact.
- Click Start.
To send a message to a group:
- On the dashboard, click Contacts > Groups, and select the group.
- Click Start Chat.
- In the IM input field type the message, and press Enter.
Click the emoticon in the message input field, and select the emoticon to add it to your message.
For Windows 7, the emoticons appear in black and white.
You can also add more participants to the group chat after initiating the session.
- MiCloud Connect Users:
To send a message to an individual contact:
- Do either of the following to find the contact:
- Search for the contact by taking the name or the extension number and select the contact.
- On the dashboard, click Contacts and select the contact from your Favorites list.
- Do either of the following to send a message:
- On the contact card, click the message icon.
- From the Search results bar or from the Favorites list, right-click the contact, and select Send IM.
The Conversation launches through the Teamwork for Desktop application, If you already have a conversation history with the contact, the Teamwork for Desktop opens the existing message conversation,; otherwise, it starts a new conversation under the Direct Message tab.
- In the message input box, type the message, and press Enter.
Click the emoticon in the message input box, and select the emoticon to add it to your message
To send a message to a group:
- On the dashboard, click Contacts > Groups, and select the group.
- Click the icon with 3 bars. The group contact card opens in the third pane.
- Click Start Chat. The conversation launches on the Teamwork for Desktop application. The application opens the existing group-chat-if there is one, or else creates a new group chat under Direct Message tab.
- In the message input box, type the message, and press Enter.
Click the emoticon in the message input box, and select the emoticon to add it to your message.
