Instructions
These are instructions on how to set a user code for a Ricoh printer or copier using a PCL6 driver on Windows. Not all organizations require user codes to access copiers and printers. If your organization does require user codes you should have received this information from your office manager or IT department.
If you have multiple copiers or printers that require user codes, you will need to repeat this process for each device. Users codes may be difference and are set on each device. However, it is common practice to use the same user code across all similar devices.
- Click on the start button
- Start typing the word "printer" and select "Printers & Scanners".
- Select the printer you want to change, then click "Manage".
- Click "Printer properties".
- Click "Preferences", then click on the "Detailed Settings" tab.
- Click "Job Setup" under the menu window.
- Enter your user code in the "User Code:" box, then click "OK" to close the Printing Preferences window.
- Click "OK" again to close the Printer Properties window.
- Click on the "X" to close the settings window.
If you have multiple printers you need to repeat this process for each printer requiring the updated code.
