Office 365 users with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) / Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled may not be able to login to the following applications or devices:
- Microsoft Outlook
- Skype
- Mail Apps on Apple iPhone
- Mail Apps on Android devices
- Visible-Archive (Web & Outlook Add-In)
In order to login to these applications and devices you will need to use an "App Password".
For the most secure benefit of 2FA/MFA we suggest that you DO NOT SAVE APP PASSWORDS! You can create a new App Password any time you need it and over time delete old ones no longer in use.
If at any time you feel you need help with this process simply open a ticket with our Helpdesk or call (805) 856-1806 for assistance.
Creating a New App Password
1. Click on the link below to create or manage App Passwords in Office 365
2. You may be required to login, if so you will need to your 2FA/MFA code to complete the login process
This code is typically sent to you via a text message on your cell phone. However different orginizations have different policies. This code may be provided in the form of a phone call to your office phone or you may have a 2FA/MFA dongle or card that provides you your code.

3. Click the [create] button to create a new App Password
If this is your first time visiting the App Password management page since setting up 2FA/MFA you should only see the "Initial app password.." that was created during your 2FA/MFA setup.
4. Enter a descriptive name for what this password will be used for, then click [next]

5. You will be provided a new App Password to be used for the device/app specified

Again, we do not recommend saving this password as it becomes something that attackers and malware could find and use to gain access to your account.
After closing this window you will not be able to retrieve that password again. If you need another password simply repeat the process above to create a new one.
